I have a weird relationship with red: I don’t particularly like the color but for some reason the color seems to suit me. Being a brunette with an olive toned skin, red, in fact, should pretty much love me if we go by the book.
I can tolerate red in small pieces such as an accentuating color, for example my apartment is decorated mainly with black, white, and red. No problem there. However, when it comes to my clothing, I probably own only a dress and a pair of gloves in this brightest of the colors. Red lipstick or more muted tones of red don’t give me shivers, and as you might know, I own a pair of cherry red shoes which I absolutely adore. But when it comes to the signal red color in large amounts, I back up and get irritated. I’m “seeing red”, so to speak.
So why all this talk about the color red, you might ask. Well, I don’t know what exactly has happened with my brainwaves but when one of my favorite designers, Ann Demeulemeester, marched an army of black and red on the runway in Paris last week, my heart pretty much stopped: red had never looked so fierce, so brave, and oh so good. At this point I really have to praise the magic maker herself, as no one has ever made me actually like and want red this much. I guess when it’s presented right, anything can look beautiful. Even the color red.

Mutta siis WAU pitkästä aikaa catwalk mallisto jota en selaa kyllästyneenä läpi ja haukottele, noita ihania punaisia yksityiskohtia jäi oikein tuijottelemaan!
Ps. varmaan pyörtyisin jos näkisin sulla punaista suuremmalla pinta-alalla kuin kengissä tai huulissa 😀

Joo todellakin, tämä oli varsinainen showstopper-mallisto ja kerrankin jotain hieman erilaista Ann D:ltä! Jätin tuosta oikeastaan tahallaan pois ne punaiset nahkatakit, jotta minimalistinen punainen tulisi enemmän esille. Mutta suosittelen selaamaan koko malliston läpi, koska siellä on varmasti juttuja, jotka vois olla kuin sulle tehtyjä. 😉
Heh, joo oudolta se tuntuu, vaikka kaikki sanookin mulle, että “se väri pukisi sua niin hyvin”. Ja siis selvennettäköön vielä kaikille, että en suinkaan dissaa punaista muiden yllä, vaan kyse on ihan mun omista valinnoista ja tuntemuksista. 🙂 Esim. sun päällä Niina punainen näyttää törkeän hyvältä ja se väri on ihan sun juttu. Kai se on vähän niin noiden värien kanssa, että jos itse tykkää ja osaa kantaa sen oikein, niin kaikki värit voi näyttää hyvältä. 🙂
En voi sietää perus punaista väriä itselläni isoina pintoina, mutta just tolleen se näyttää niin hyvältä 😛 Esim punainen huulipuna ja punaiset nahkahansikkaat muuten mustassa asussa on nammm!
Mulla täsmälleen sama juttu! Tai siis ainakaan itseni päällä en voi. 🙂 Täytyneekin tästä kaivaa 6 vuotta vanhat punaiset nahkahanskat hattuhyllyn uumenista. 😉
