Summer’s end

Summer is almost officially over and with the falling leaves you can definitely feel that season is changing once again. I spent my fall like Sunday visiting my aunt’s art exhibition at the culture center of Voipaala and picking apples, cherries and plums from the trees of a baroque garden that was hidden behind the main house. A beautiful day to sum up this summer, to turn a new leaf, and head towards new adventures which I will tell more about later this week.

Paris men’s fashion week: Boris Bidjan Saberi S/S12

This season Boris Bidjan Saberi takes us to a city of dust, as the earthy tones and long lean silhouettes make you instantly think of a desert warrior. The collection consisted of lengthy tops, structured blazers, hoods, relaxed bottom parts and interesting shoe designs. All elements known to be part of Boris’ aesthetics. The color scheme was a perfect blend of black and various tones of brown, with a subtle hint of grey. Overall a very cohesive and wearable collection with a few surprise elements from Boris Bidjan Saberi.

From 2012 to 1931

As fascinating as the Paris fashion week is, it’s always nice to take a little break and do something totally non-fashion related and outside of the regular tourist traps. This time around my friend Dirk and I conquered yet another Le Corbusier masterpiece, the magnificent Villa Savoye in the town of  Poissy, located in the outskirts of Paris. For our little trip, I wore an outfit that has stuck on me like a glue this summer due to it’s lightweight and comfortable nature; a Rick Owens Lilies long dress, DRK SHDWleggings (both purchases from Paris) paired with an OBSCUR cardigan, and my dearSILENT sandals featured in the previous post. All I can say that it was a great day in great company, despite the looks we got from the townsfolk when two black figures hiked to the hilltop of Poissy in the sizzling +30C heat. Totally worth it though.

Perfect summer

I hope everyone’s summer has been as good as mine and full of lazy days. Going back to the routines is always a tough cookie but luckily I have some exciting things planned for the fall time, which will be all revealed in due course. I also have a few Paris posts still coming up but before getting into those, I’m introducing one of my favorite summer purchases: these black suede SILENT by Damir Doma sandals that have been on my feet non-stop since the moment I got them, as I literally walked out of the Paris Damir Doma store in these. I got them on a good discount which made the boys make fun of me since now the most comfortable shoes I own, are also the cheapest pair in my closet. Life is funny like that but at least it’s better for my wallet, and for my dear feet of course.
