Downtown

If I would have to describe L.A. with just one word, it would be “vibrant”; There is always something going on, whether it is a concert or another kind of cultural happening around the corner. This time around we attended the yearly Downtown art walk and to better capture the atmosphere or rather organized chaos of this evening, I had to eternalize it with my camera. Maybe you can spot the one and only clothing associated purchase I made during my L.A. trip, something that I have been dreaming about for a few years now: The Ann Demeulemeester lace up heeled sandals. I believe good things comes to those who wait, though I have hard time convincing it to my extremely impatient nature… even when there are results like this.

Cardigan: Boris Bidjan Saberi

Here they come, part time punks!

Now that I have finally overcome the jet lag from my travels, I start my California image diary with pictures from one of L.A.’s better nightlife establishments, Part Time Punks. Though the night wasn’t the best of what the club can offer, we ended up having our own fun playing with a cutout figure of the mighty Rozz Williams, and later on in the night with my own camera capturing the spirit(s) of the night.

Return to surrender

If not for the perfect climate, Southern California is always a good place to catch artists that would rarely enter the European soil. Tonight I’m going to see Tamaryn and the Raveonettes play at a local bar here in the O.C., and it should be at least interesting. Tamaryn’s ethereal sound caught me and entered my playlists in 2009 when her single “Return to Surrender” came out, blowing my mind completely. If you don’t believe my appraisal, listen to it yourself. This, still a bit unknown artist, is someone definitely worth checking out.
