Best of Paris Fashion Week S/S 09

My favourite fashion week has started and we can finally see what’s in store for spring/summer ’09 in Paris. Here are the collections that made my heart skip a beat.

Ann Demeulemeester is one of those designers who’s collections can always be trusted. Her spring/summer 09 collection is not a let down either. I feel like the layered and knotted shirts and the sandals would be something that I could see added to my closet.

Though Balenciage is not one of usual favorites, I have always had a soft spot for 60’s futurism. This season the French fashion house delivered exacly that with a hint of sci-fi from what looks straight out of Blade Runner. I think the shoes which are actually tights with a shoe bottom, will be definitely be spring’s most talked about phenomena.

Ricardo Tisci has done it again: Givenchy’s gothic theme that worked well in the fall/winter collection continues in to the spring, oozing dark sex appeal.

Crop that top

I feel like blogging has been kind of difficult for me in the past weeks. I have taken outfit pictures but I just don’t seem to have any energy to actually sit by my laptop and write something down. I blame it on the darkness that is creeping around, it’s slowly shortening the daylight and making me so lazy and tired. I really need to get a grip and try get my energy levels back on track. At least my weekend was busy, so there is something to show and say.On Saturday my boyfriend was DJing at the local indie club. I figured that I had to wear black to match the mood of his DJ set since he was playing mostly post punk/dark wave/new wave/elektro stuff. I was a bit nervous on his behalf but relieved that the set was actually really good, and filled up the dance floor pretty much all night long. In the end people didn’t even want to leave! Good music, good friends, good times…

Different shade of black

If you’ve been wondering where have I been for the past week, well quite a lot of stuff has been going on that has prevented me from blogging. My boyfriend went through surgery and I have been spending all my spare time with him at the hospital. Luckily he is home now but him being my photographer, getting pictures taken might be hard for awhile. There was also a death in my family during this period as my grandfather passed away. So blogging has been on a little break but now I’m back.

This photo was actually taken last week but I have been wearing this very same outfit this week as well. I wanted to play with the different materials and tones of black since it creates depth to otherwise a one color look. As the fall progresses, I feel like wearing more and more black…
