Construction in black

The fact that our backyard has been turned into a giant tent withholding a noisy construction zone, made it tempting to live dangerously, and use the space to snap a few pictures regardless of the “keep out” sign taped to our back door. Not only did it give a rather interesting background to the photos, but also a chance to finally introduce these high waisted Ann Demeulemeester trousers which I got for my birthday last month. As usual, I have worn them on multiple occasions since, yet somehow always managed to avoid getting them eternalized in their full glory. My latest wardrobe resident is made of 85% virgin wool, as comfortable as it can get, and full of neat little details, like the twisted seams, slits in the hem and two buckled straps on the waistline. Very Ann D indeed. Somehow that woman knows how to make clothes to flatter the female body, and hey, that works for me.

Oh my life, is changing everyday, every possible way

Hello it’s me again. Greetings from my travels and so on. Busy life, busy girl. The Rick winter coat is new, I snatched it with unbelievable -70% discount and couldn’t be happier; It has all the qualifications I was looking for from the massive hood to the length of the hem (clearer pictures to come, I promise). Thanks to Rhia‘s amazing sewing skills, it is now resized to fit me even better. Winter, bring it on!

Just before dark

New York fashion week has never been my absolute favorite but this fall I had to applaud to one designer for making a wearable and solid collection to my liking, it being Narciso Rodriguez‘ S/S11. Hence, I was extremely honored to be invited to Helsinki for the opening party of his new collaboration collection with Lindex and to pick a few of my personal favorites from it.

I had previewed this collaboration which goes by the name “Pink Collection” (and is supporting the battle against breast cancer with 10% of the profit going to good cause) online and knew exactly the pieces I wanted to try on and take home with me. One of my choices was an elegant little black dress with pleated seams, a dress which can be easily worn from the day to night by just changing the accessories. My second pick were sturdy, pant like leggins which I’ve been desperately trying to seek from everywhere and finally with this opportunity, found the perfect pair. All and all, a pretty successful evening.

If you want to see the whole collection and take part in a gift card give away for this special collaboration, do visit the Pink Collection’s showroom pages!
