Everyday is a Halloween

Last night we celebrated the spookiest night of the year with good company, a Jack O Lantern, pumpkin pie and some red wine. We also ended up checking out the the local gothic club, figuring it was one of the only costume parties going on with music that would fit the mood perfectly. Such a fun night it was, too! Thank you my friends.

I did the classic trick and became a vampire vamp for the night, as I’ve always had a thing for those sexy beasts. It’s no wonder I’m a total sucker for True Blood and anything vampire related. Tonight I will probably finally watch the Vampire Diaries (I always see the advertisements during Gossip Girl), especially when after realizing my boy Ian Somerhalder is part of the cast.

P.S., if someone wants to get a great set of vampire teeth, I can recommend these fellas, they have to be the best vampire teeth makers out there! Unfortunately they don’t ship abroad but not to worry, I got my Sexy Bites via eBay.

P.P.S. Berlin is calling next week! Any tips?

Happy Halloween everyone!

Barbie girl

Ever since I was a little girl, I always wanted to organize costume parties; there is just something intriguing about becoming a totally different character, even if it’s just for a day. Last night one of my long time costume party ideas came to reality, when we celebrated my birthday with a Barbie & Ken theme. Unfortunately I don’t have too much material of my fabulous guests’ outfits (and they would probably kill me if I published anything) but at least you can see my dress that I’ve been saving for ages, the decorations, and the amazing Barbie cake made by Laura’s big sister from the Jauhot Suussa blog.

After Sing Staring and being stuffed from all the party food, we headed to Hang the Dj club which was also celebrating it’s birthday. I was particularly happy when they played Prince’s Raspberry Beret from request but naturally the birthday girl should get her wish, right?

I want to thank all my guests for showing up, you all looked so lovely! Next time we are dressing up for Halloween, oh yes yes yes!

This is our decision, to live fast or die young, we got the vision, now let’s have some fun!

As promised, here are some more pictures from the past weekend. These are all from Saturday’s craziness, I can’t recall the last time when I’ve had such a random and fun night in this city. We ended up seeing the New Wine and the Finnish electro legend Op:l Bastards at MOP, who also hung out with us at the backstage for a bit. In the end it was just our gang invading the space, eating their leftover sandwhiches and sodas. We also ended up to the strangest after party with DJ decks and spin the bottle (don’t ask me how and what went on after that).

I wore my newest purchase, the Rick Owens DRKSHDW tunic dress which is so comfortable and well tailored that I literally want to live in it from now on. Essi was looking fabulous as always, and we just had to take some mutual shots to show how we almost have the same profile! She really feels like the little sister that I never had, that’s how similar we are in so many ways.

Going with the Flow

I’m back from Flow festival but so dead beat that my sleep deprived body is saying I should switch off my computer, and get some sleep instead of blogging. Even so, I want to share some pictures from Saturday.

Immediately after getting inside the festival area, I saw a familiar face smiling at me, and recognized it to be the ever-so-stylish Essi from the Fashion Overdose. I asked her to join us and soon we really hit it off, talking about music, fashion, Berlin, and of course, blogging. Doesn’t she look so cute?

My own outfit for the evening was compiled by taking the weather changes into consideration, and adding some Robert Smith into the mix. The brand new white Docs actually served me extremely well during the evening, though my calves were hurting just a wee a bit this morning (nothing untolerable, for those of you who were asking). I’d give them a few more walks, and they should be just fine.

As for the bands, we ended up seeing Vivian Girls, White Lies, Grace Jones, Juan McLean and my personal favorite of them all, Handsome Furs. I don’t think I’ve ever seen as energetic show as this stylish Canadian couple put together at Flow. I completely fell in love with Alexei’s fringey knit dress, anyone know who it’s by?

I also met up with the absolutely fabulous Stella before the festival, and enjoyed some drinks and good company at her place pre-Flow. We also had some business taken care of but more about that later. Now I need to go to sleep…

P.S. My blog’s birthday competition is now closed, I will announce the winner tomorrow!
