Black and white town

I picked up this Burfitt waistcoat/gilet from JUS whilst in Stockholm and after trying it on and hearing compliments from both the staff and my traveling companions, I knew my initial instinct about it had been right. I love how it has that 60’s feel yet it looks modern and very “me” when worn with right pieces.

Somehow the gilet was screaming for a white button-up blouse (in the style of Ann Demeulemeester) and since there is a lack of a basic one in my own wardrobe, I borrowed this Roberto Cavalli for H&M men’s shirt I had bought for my boyfriend sometime ago.  I paired  the top part with my AA lame leggins and the brand new Ann Demeuelemeester heels, and so the look for an all easy Saturday was  born. Simple as that!

Enjoy your weekend, lovelies!

I was probably the only blogger who had not stressed so much about the outfit selection for the Indiedays launch party, as I had mine planned already two weeks ago when I brought back this layered dress from Berlin. I was looking for something that would go well with the Rick Owens wedges I had bought just a few days before my trip, and this dress completely hit the spot: It’s layered, versatile, made of jersey and organza silk, and as “me” as a me can get. I love how you can make it a hoodie, a cape or even give it a sporty look by just gathering all the layers on the front. This won’t be the last time you’ll see this new friend of mine…

Dark matter

Anyone who has been following my blog for a longer period of time now, has probably noted my vast obsession for the Rick Owens wedges. They have been my ultimate dream shoes since launched a few seasons ago, and during my Berlin trip I was actually able to be one step closer to my dream when I got to try them on at the Apartment. Such a tease!

The  image of these boots haunted me for a long time, until one day my dear boyfriend found a private seller selling the pull-on wedge flap boot version with a discounted price. Now, these shoes were not the ONES I had been desperately lusting for but after thinking about it for awhile, I realized that they were more than the regular version could ever offer.

So, here they are now, all the way from Italy, finally mine to keep. Dark, smooth leather, beautifully sculpted wedge and the absurdly amazing “wings” (a true Rick Owens stamp) that will make any outfit stand out from the crowd. If shoes can create a feeling of extacy, then this must be it. I’m never taking these off my feet, never…

Businesslike

Two more days of work and then I’m off to Berlin for the new year’s celebration. A mini vacation is in place since they made me come to work during these “in between days”. I don’t really see the point when my email box is screaming of emptiness…

Speaking of work, someone once asked me to post about my work clothing and tips about how to look chic in the boring office environment. The trick I’ve learned, is to keep it simple with the basics but to also add something that makes the outfit pop, such as an interesting detail or accessory. The topic actually allows me to introduce something my lovely boyfriend got me for my birthday: a blazer/cardigan designed by our talented friend, Richard Söderberg.

Richard’s brand Obscur is a menswear label but the smaller sizes seem to fit me fine (you can get his clothes at least herehere and here). I’ve worn this number on several occasions since it’s suitable for both office and free time wear. The piece looks professional, though it has that special “twist” which makes it look more interesting than those basic blazers or cardigans people would normally wear to an office. I kept the rest of the outfit simple with basic peg leg trousers, the only additional detail being the front of the white top. You can even add platform ankle boots and no one would make a big deal because the cardigan is the true show stopper here. In a delicate way, of course.

I hope you all are enjoying the holidays, I’ll be back next year!
