Put your leather on

Spring has finally arrived here which calls for taking the leather jacket out. The warm weather also gave me the courage to try my Sigma lens in the way that I’ve been waiting to do all winter; taking it out to the streets. I’m really pleased that it works so wonderfully, finally this blog is stepping up it’s game. I wish there will be more sunny days to come so that I can play with my camera some more. See, I’m definitely not camera shy but weather shy, well, that’s a different story.

Enjoy your weekend, folks!

Winning a battle, losing the war

Some might call me crazy or stupid but what can you do when your friends are demanding you to go out on a Saturday night, despite my efforts of telling them “I got a flu guys, I don’t think I should go”.  In fact, they just offered me more French apple cider and said that “you know, apples should keep the doctor away”. Well, I didn’t get worse but I didn’t get better either. Plus minus zero situation, at least I had fun.

I notice now that Saturday’s outfit pictures are actually missing a cardigan which I kept on all night; I’m happy something was telling me to listen to the more rational side of my brain. I also thought I’d keep the jewelry minimal and use a safetypin with some chain to lock the vest in place. It looks pretty nifty, huh?

I’m really hoping to get over my sickness by Saturday because one of my favorite girls is turning 22 and I really want to be there. Plus it would be the perfect occasion to introduce my new purchases in action. Wish me well!

Max it up!

There is a reason why I hardly ever throw away anything from my past, take this velvet maxi dress for example. It has been residing in my parent’s attic since I wore it the last time, in my junior high school’s Independence Day ball in 1997. Mixed with my favorite blazer from last summer and the Ann Demeulemeester wedges, it’s actually very 2010. The only thing I had forgotten is that velvet is an extremely hot material but I guess for a sickie like me, it was the perfect choice to keep me warm throughout Thursday’s hectic schedule.

The maxi saga continues: a dreamy soft maxi skirt has just moved into my closet but more about that later…

And when the day come, it will all have been fun, we'll talk about it soon

Yesteday was an über busy day including a visit to Helsinki, and more specifically making a video interview with the aspiring fashion designer  Ewa Larsson (more about that later), crashing Star PR’s housewarming bash where the latest summer collections of Monki and Weekday were present, and finally attending the Marimekko autumn 2010 fashion show with a few of my blogger colleagues.

This whole week I’ve been fighting against an afwul spring flu to make yesterday happen, and of course today, regardless of the multiple vitamin overdozes, I’m a total bedpatient. Therefore I’ll let the pictures do the talking from now on and concentrate on getting better.

Enjoy your weekend!
