Peg leg

If you have wondered why I’ve been quiet for awhile, well, on Tuesday I got sick from the flu shot which put me into bed for a few days. Finally on Friday evening I was feeling better, so we invited some friends over and all of us ended up dancing the night way at the club Hang the Dj.

I built the evening’s outfit around these amazing peg leg pants which I ordered from Carin Wester‘s mega sale (thanks Stella for the tip!) and a beige shoulder padded top I got in Berlin but haven’t really worn until now. To be honest, it feels nice to wear something other than all black for once, as my outfits and mood have both been quite dark in the past weeks. Perhaps it was the glimpse of sun hitting from the window that got me in a spring mood and craving some color to the mix. Well, whatever “mental disturbance” it was, it seemed to work!

My bloody valentine

I hope you all had a great Valentine’s Day! I spent mine in rather unusual and dark surroundings of the art museum by visiting the H. R. Giger expo with my boyfriend. Giger’s artwork is absolutely spectacular: The whole idea of man meeting the machine, living organisms coming one with technology is so intriguing. When it comes to my outfits and style, I’m often inspired by music, movies or certain athmosphere, and can already tell that this expo most certainly has left it’s futuristic marks on me.

My Sunday outfit was quite relaxed with a touch of dark romanticism to better suit the mood of the most romantic day of the year. The loosely knitted cardigan is another great find I made from Stockholm, and it’s actually from the men’s line this time. I love how it’s so slouchy that even though I stuffed myself to the max at an Indian buffet later in the night, my dinner company or no one in the near tables could really tell. Girls got to have her secret weapons, right?

To get back to the amazing artwork of H.R. Giger, here is the magnificent Debbie Harry wearing and surrounded by Giger’s creations. Truly inspiring!

Black and white town

I picked up this Burfitt waistcoat/gilet from JUS whilst in Stockholm and after trying it on and hearing compliments from both the staff and my traveling companions, I knew my initial instinct about it had been right. I love how it has that 60’s feel yet it looks modern and very “me” when worn with right pieces.

Somehow the gilet was screaming for a white button-up blouse (in the style of Ann Demeulemeester) and since there is a lack of a basic one in my own wardrobe, I borrowed this Roberto Cavalli for H&M men’s shirt I had bought for my boyfriend sometime ago.  I paired  the top part with my AA lame leggins and the brand new Ann Demeuelemeester heels, and so the look for an all easy Saturday was  born. Simple as that!

Enjoy your weekend, lovelies!

Veiling reflections

Yesterday ended up being rather quiet as my friend, who’s b-day we were attending, had hurt his leg. So, we didn’t end up going dancing but it was still a good night hanging out with the friends.

Knowing that the night might have become a quiet one, I had dressed up in the most comfortable gear which would still be party approved. The DRK SHDW shirt is a find my boyfriend made in Sweden but for some strange reason, handed it down to me. Somehow I have a feeling that he’ll end up wanting it back after seeing how great it looks on me (haha). The sheer mesh dress is also from Sweden, it was a quick purchase decision made without even trying on the garment, and even though it was a total impulse buy, I’m really happy about taking it home. I love how it creates another layer on the skirt, making it almost like a veil of darkness that is covering my body. I can’t wait to play with it more!

The last paragraph of this entry shall be dedicated to a lamentation about the fact that I’m totally over the winter season already! I hate how it restricts you from wearing what you want, say, these boots for example (damn slippery roads and snow!). Please spring, can’t you just hurry up and come already? We’ve been waiting for you…
