Sunday, bloody Sunday

I’ve literally slept an unbelievably large amount of hours these past few days because Friday’s festivity took its toll on me quite heavily. I guess I’m getting old considering I had to pass on Saturday’s club, that’s how exhausted I was. So, I’ve been lounging all weekend in my aged pink PJ pants and a tank top, laying and eating in bed watching UK’s celebrity Big Brother from the computer. Oh man, what a high life I have, haha. Since you probably wouldn’t want to see my lounging around outfit and I don’t want to really share it either, here is me wearing my Diana Orving spring jacket couple of weeks ago. Finally it’s been warm enough to wear this fella without too much heavy layering needed underneath. I’ve learned that the jacket is such a everyday lifesaver; whenever I feel boring or ordinary, the jacket totally lightens up the outfit and saves my day. That’s how you know it’s a very successful purchase.

Mesmerize with your eyes now

Months of anticipation…finally it’s here…tonight Clan of Xymox is playing in my city. IN MY CITY of all the Finnish cities, can you imagine?! For those of you who are not familiar with the band, Clan of Xymox is an old 80’s goth/dark wave band but with rather dancey tunes. I recommend listening to Louise, Muscoviet Mosquito, and Heroes as samples. After the show the goth club Schatten is going to be in action, the same one I have attended a couple of times now.As goes for tonight’s outfit, it’s not hard to guess which collection I was inspired by once again. Ricardo Tisci’s creations for Givenchy’s fall RTW 08 just has that romatic, vampire like goth tone to it which is perfect for tonight. I’m wearing mostly second hand finds; a ruffled shirt I picked up recently from the local second hand store and a year old distressed, high waisted leather skirt which I shortened just couple of hours ago.

It’s strange how light it is outside; these pictures were taken at 7 pm and there is still enough light to take pictures (that hasn’t happened since last summer). The thermometer also hit +7 Celcius earlier in the day, so now I can officially say that yes, spring is here. For good, I hope.

The carrot pants

“Life in the 90’s is paranoid…” Tonight I’m attending a 90’s night at the Club Vintage and thought of dressing accordingly but with a modern twist, of course. Last time I went all out with the 90’s theme, some people thought I was serious – where is you sense of humor, folks? This time I am actually semi-serious because these stone washed carrot pants I scored for one Euro, are indeed really cool and will totally be a part of my relaxed look in the summer. They hide my feminine curves so perfectly, in a similar way that the so called “boyfriend jeans” do the trick. Oh so 90’s, yet so…today!

Primavera

Sometimes the inspiration for the daily outfits can be found from the most bizzarre places. Friday night’s party ensemble got its idea from the renaissance style, having my favorite painter Botticelli’s beautiful masterpiece “Primavera” in my mind. The painting pictures women wearing empire line dresses, big necklaces, and wavy hair and Mercury with his gladiator sandals; exactly the same elements which you can find from my outfit. I should use paintings as an inspiration source more often.

It so happens that Primavera means spring in Italian, and due today’s sunshine burst, it finally seems like spring is REALLY here. Fingers crossed that it will continue like this from now on.
