Downtown

If I would have to describe L.A. with just one word, it would be “vibrant”; There is always something going on, whether it is a concert or another kind of cultural happening around the corner. This time around we attended the yearly Downtown art walk and to better capture the atmosphere or rather organized chaos of this evening, I had to eternalize it with my camera. Maybe you can spot the one and only clothing associated purchase I made during my L.A. trip, something that I have been dreaming about for a few years now: The Ann Demeulemeester lace up heeled sandals. I believe good things comes to those who wait, though I have hard time convincing it to my extremely impatient nature… even when there are results like this.

From 2011/2012 to 1923/1925

If you have been wondering about the silence on this blog, well, lately I have felt like there is really no point in blabbing about superficial things like fashion when there are much more serious things going on around the globe. Hence no showing of recent purchases or new outfits in some time.

However, I wanted to show these pictures from my Paris travels that I made back in January for some time now, but was waiting for the right moment to hit my poetic vein. I figured that when the times are tough, it’s nice to remember the moments that we can be happy about, like this little detour that my German friend Dirk and I made from the men’s fashion week to the amazing Maison Le Roche by Le Corbusier. If you are in Paris and want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the more touristic attractions, then this place  should be on your must see list.

Dated back to the 1920’s, this beautiful house stands in the outskirts of Paris, near the Jasmin metro station (prepare to walk a bit, the neighborhood is a must see of its own). We celebrated this event with a little bit of bubbly which made the trip much more jolly, and spot things that might go otherwise unnoticed like cool street names and delicate sunlight hitting the Parisian streets. Oh Paris, how I miss it all already.

Everlong

I hope everyone had a nice Christmas! I spent mine rather quietly at my childhood home eating a lot of traditional Finnish Christmas food and exchanging a few gifts. I will introduce one of them sometime soon when the weather gets a bit more tolerable.

This outfit is from Sunday night, it’s sort of a tradition here to go out on the Boxing Day and shake off all the Christmas stress – dancing from 9pm to 4am definitely did that for me. Hence the relaxed outfit and comfortable shoes; you need those when you’re not sure how many drinks are going to be poured on you and how much glass there is on the dance floor. This time around I could avoid it all and had an amazing night to remember. Now my aching body remembers it too.

Enjoy the last week of 2010!
