Springspiration

Since today’s weather was so fine and everyone else had abandoned the city for the Easter holidays, my boyfriend and I decided to go for a little walk and look for some good photo shooting locations. We didn’t have to walk to far when we spotted this messy construction zone at a yard of an old hotel. The contrast between the constuction junk and the amazing 1920’s building was somehow very attractive: a mix of old and new, ugly and beautiful. Just perfect!

Nice sunny days like this make me want to dig in my closet for more spring type clothes. These white jeans, that I’ve tapered myself, haven’t seen the light of day in a long long time but are as springy as springy can get. It’s fun to realize how something you wore back in 2002 and thought wouldn’t come back this soon, seems so fresh again (I also have a pair of pink skinny jeans from the same era waiting for the right moment to arrive. Me + pink = scary, eh?). The sunshine also lured the leather jacket and the Cherry Bon Bons to come out of my closet, giving the just the right splash of color for the outfit. Oh how I missed you spring!

Back from Stockholm

Hi folks, I’m back from Stockholm! It was a great trip although the weather was not on our side and it kept raining for two days. Therefore there is no picture overload from the trip, sorry! Taking pictures when your hair looks like a wet rat is not providing the best material for the blog, say what you say.
I ended up making pretty good finds, although it was heart breaking to see almost everything I purchased last time with a -75% tag. I will introduce my findings in later posts but here is a sneak peek of my amazing new spring coat. If you are wondering why I look a bit coneish, it’s because my over 6 foot tall little brother took the picture on a slanted hill. Since it was his debut as a “blogographer” and he was kind enough to capture me for the sake of my blog, I will forgive him. 😉 Thanks baby bro for the picture, it turned out pretty good!

Here are some random shots from the trendy Slussen area. It’s not hard to guess which is my favorite store and which is my boyfriend’s.

P.S. There are now 48 people (in public) following my blog through Blogger and this is my 98th post. When the public followers hit the 50 mark or I will have my 100th post, which ever happens first, I was thinking about doing a video post. That is if I don’t get chickened out by then. Anyway, something fun is coming up, so stay tuned…

Everything from Eastern style to photoshoots

The other day and today have been extremely busy. We finally finished the photo shoot for the Etsy store few hours ago and I have to say, modeling is really hard work! A big hand to our photographer Satu and model Minna for helping to create lovely images for the selling lines.

The reason why Thursday was so busy is that I attended a photograph exhibition at a local art gallery called East Side stories. The exhibition portrays a trip of Liisa Jokinen from Hel-looks, photographer Juliana Harkki and stylist Salli Raeste to Eastern Finland through images of people’s styles and places in the East. If you live in or visit Tampere, it’s definitely something worth experiencing.

After the exhibition my boyfriend and I joined the exhibitors for a dinner and continued our evening at our friends’ place. I wore a black sweater bought from Sweden with leather patches and my new OTK boots which I absolutely adore. Here are some images from last night, everyone was dressed so fancy.

I also asked Satu to photograph the outfit in the studio as well.

The picture you see, is no portrait of me

This picture is one of the few that the camera had captured of me whilst on the boat to Sweden. I was unaware of how the images turned out until I had seen this one that the photographer had sent me. To my dismay, the artist behind the lens wanted to use this image for his re-opened website and since I rarely take any headshots, that I’m actually pleased with, I allowed the request.
