Feeling without touching

I spent a nice and sunny weekend in Stockholm, hence nothing new from the blogging front. Our initial plan was to visit my relatives and see a Glass Candy show but due to an unfortunate accident, the latter had been canceled. Despite the few throwbacks, we had an excellent time in Sweden celebrating the 1st of May, a.k.a. Valborg’s day, by a bonfire in the local park and dancing the night away at Debaser.

Stockholm is one of those cities which never leaves you cold, especially when it was about 10 degrees warmer than here in Finland. It’s a real pity I didn’t  manage to take the weather back with me; instead I took back a few new things  that will enrich my  summer wardrobe.

Enjoy your weekend!

Pastel perfection

Many times you readers wonder why us bloggers show only our fellow bloggers in the pictures and never our “regular” friends. Well, the fact of the matter is that most of the time our friends are quite camera shy, and don’t want to be photographed to a public diary viewed by thousands of people every week. I totally understand and I respect their wish. Therefore, I was extremely happy when my friend Laura, who is by the way always impeccably dressed, agreed to be part of the Nikon’s “I AM” street style campaign and allowed me to take a picture of one of her amazing outfits. I’m jealous of her ability to match colors and make them look so desirable, even for a black lover like me.  I mean, just take a look.

If you like Laura’s outfit, you can vote for her look over here (sorry only in Finnish) and possibly win a Nikon Coolpix digital camera. Good luck!

Dance classics

A few weeks ago I was asked to model for a poster of a new club night and since I’m always up for new things, I decided to give it ago. Here are some shots from that photo shoot session, shot by the talented Klaus Elfving from the Plauge DJ collective. I’m totally loving the whole 70’s vibe mixed with my modern clothes which pretty much sums up the name of the club, Dance Classics.

If you happen to be in Tampere on Saturday the 24th of April, you should totally come to Yo-talo for the Dance Classics night with good music and people. See you there!

Max it up!

There is a reason why I hardly ever throw away anything from my past, take this velvet maxi dress for example. It has been residing in my parent’s attic since I wore it the last time, in my junior high school’s Independence Day ball in 1997. Mixed with my favorite blazer from last summer and the Ann Demeulemeester wedges, it’s actually very 2010. The only thing I had forgotten is that velvet is an extremely hot material but I guess for a sickie like me, it was the perfect choice to keep me warm throughout Thursday’s hectic schedule.

The maxi saga continues: a dreamy soft maxi skirt has just moved into my closet but more about that later…
