Dark matter

Anyone who has been following my blog for a longer period of time now, has probably noted my vast obsession for the Rick Owens wedges. They have been my ultimate dream shoes since launched a few seasons ago, and during my Berlin trip I was actually able to be one step closer to my dream when I got to try them on at the Apartment. Such a tease!

The  image of these boots haunted me for a long time, until one day my dear boyfriend found a private seller selling the pull-on wedge flap boot version with a discounted price. Now, these shoes were not the ONES I had been desperately lusting for but after thinking about it for awhile, I realized that they were more than the regular version could ever offer.

So, here they are now, all the way from Italy, finally mine to keep. Dark, smooth leather, beautifully sculpted wedge and the absurdly amazing “wings” (a true Rick Owens stamp) that will make any outfit stand out from the crowd. If shoes can create a feeling of extacy, then this must be it. I’m never taking these off my feet, never…

Pull-on wedge flap boots: Rick Owens

These boots are made for walking

I have completely forgotten to properly introduce the latest addition to my shoe family: the Ann Demeulemeester riding boots. They are actually a second hand find from Berlin and ever since we met, we’ve been inseparable – that’s how comfortable and well-made they are.

First I thought they wouldn’t fit me right, being size 36 and all, but they are actually perfect (and still roomy) for my size 37 feet. So if you ever get boots from Ann Dem, remember to size down half or one size.

Whilst in Berlin, I also had the pleasure of trying on the famous Rick Owens wedges and noticed that those run one size bigger as well (at least for me). Now I’m a bit doubtful about shopping for shoes online, I guess you can never be sure if they fit true to size or not… Trial and error it is then.

Walking on clouds

These shoes just came all the way from Helsinki with a help of three lovely ladies. I first spotted these beauties on Stella in the Finnish Olivia magazine, and instantly texted her asking if they were as comfortable as they looked. She confirmed my suspicions, and so hunt for the shoes began.

Since my hometown Tampere had limited resources (as usual), I contacted Essi to see if she could pick up a pair of the “Missys” for me from the Vagabond store in Helsinki and bring them to my birthday party. She picked up the shoes but unfortunately got sick and couldn’t make it to my birthday, so the shoes didn’t find their way home at that time. Luckily Laura was planning on visiting Helsinki, and kindly promised to bring my babies home for me. So after a long story, here they finally are.

At this point you could ask how many black platform ankle booties does a girl need (I got three pairs now) but when shoes despite the four inch heel are feeling like the heaven is kissing your feet, you just can’t turn them down, can’t you?

8 holes

A year long wait is now over and my new puppies have finally found their way home. These white eight hole Dr. Martens seem to be sold out everywhere, especially in my foot size but luckily my boyfriend managed found them and on discount, too. How great is that?! They will be so handy during Flow Festival this Saturday. Hmm… what to pair these with though? The options are endless, so you just gotta wait and see.

P.S. Don’t forget my blog’s birtday competiton. It will end on Saturday, so hurry!
