Feet on the ground, head in the sky

This weekend has been quite sunny, encouraging me to take walks, eat Italian ice cream, meet up with friends and go rollerblading with my boyfriend. The latter I started as a part of my exercice routine, as I’m planning on being in some sort of beach shape before the Barcelona trip in June. I’ve noticed that exercicing for me is possible only when its a.) fun, and b.) there is a definite short term target. Rollerblading and the Barcelona trip kind of fill these requirements.
The outfit below is from Saturday and is my way of saying: welcome summer or rather, welcome Finnish summer. If only one day it would be hot enough to wear just shorts and a t-shirt, cause I really miss those guys. Notice also the new picture taking tactics with my new found skills to hover!

Oh God it's raining and I'm not complaining, it's filling me up with new life

Finnish weather is really strange. When I left to the movie theatres today to watch Angels & Demons with my boyfriend, it was sunny. When we stepped out of the movies a couple of hours later, it was hailing and thundering. Now the firemen are emptying out some water which apparently leaked inside the basement of our apartment building. Damn you global warming! Actually, I do enjoy the rain sometimes, my hair just doesn’t.

Loving would be easy if your colors were like my dream; red gold and green, red gold and green

It’s pretty much summer outside and I have to wear heavy gear due to a flu that seems to stick like glue (hey, it rhymes!). For some unknown reason, the outfit of today has very autumnish colors; I guess being sick has slowed me down from changing into the spring mode. Maybe I’m just rebeling until the last moment, since spring fashion has never been a true favorite of mine. However, I am craving more light colors into my wardrobe, indicating that some brainwashing has happend while browsing through a bunch of fashion magazines and their spring editorials. Being sick has its upsides too: plenty of free time which you can devote just for the world of fashion.

Now I’m off to enjoying a hot cup of tea and praying for a miracle healing so I can attend Club Vintage’s 80’s night tomorrow. Actually, I’m gonna go no matter what – rebel on!

Militant

Last night I went to see a great Finnish band called Cats on Fire at a local rock club. If you’re a fan of The Smiths and Haircut 100, the Cats will definitely be your cup of tea. I think these guys are going to be big; they have already been booked to play in the UK and New York very soon. If they hit your town next, I at least recommend checking them out.

Due to somewhat of laziness, I decided to go out with pretty much what I was wearing earlier in the day at work. Naturally the belt was added later, I played around with it to make it look like a gun holster which provided a more militant and structured look to my new, extra long button-up shirt. Wearing the shoelaces only half way up brings a little more springy update on the combat boots, yet I am dreaming of these babies constantly. Must. Get. Them. NOW.
