Veiling reflections

Yesterday ended up being rather quiet as my friend, who’s b-day we were attending, had hurt his leg. So, we didn’t end up going dancing but it was still a good night hanging out with the friends.

Knowing that the night might have become a quiet one, I had dressed up in the most comfortable gear which would still be party approved. The DRK SHDW shirt is a find my boyfriend made in Sweden but for some strange reason, handed it down to me. Somehow I have a feeling that he’ll end up wanting it back after seeing how great it looks on me (haha). The sheer mesh dress is also from Sweden, it was a quick purchase decision made without even trying on the garment, and even though it was a total impulse buy, I’m really happy about taking it home. I love how it creates another layer on the skirt, making it almost like a veil of darkness that is covering my body. I can’t wait to play with it more!

The last paragraph of this entry shall be dedicated to a lamentation about the fact that I’m totally over the winter season already! I hate how it restricts you from wearing what you want, say, these boots for example (damn slippery roads and snow!). Please spring, can’t you just hurry up and come already? We’ve been waiting for you…

Soundtrack for tonight

Tonight is my friend’s birthday party but due to the fact that my sweet boyfriend went out last night and woke me up at 3AM, I didn’t get enough beauty sleep. Therefore an injection of groovy 80’s tunes is needed to uplift the spirit for the night. Who knows, maybe I’ll get to go dancing, hopefully somewhere else than just in my own livingroom…

P.S. Since music is one of my main inspiration sources when it comes to what I’m wearing, I’m trying to figure out how to make a playlist here on WordPress. I tried the usual tricks with no luck, so I turned to the Indiedays IT team and they promised to work on it.  Hopefully it will be possible to post playlists without using Youtube since a lot of the good stuff can’t be found from there.

Stay tuned, my friends…

I’m back from a style bloggers cruise where we got to spend a few hours shopping in the beautiful but cold Stockholm. The highlights of my trip were hanging out with my stylish colleagues Essi, Nelliina, Laura and Nina, meeting up with the talented Richard from Obscur, visiting the backroom at JUS where we got to see the fall/winter 2010/11 collection of Diana Orving, and shopping at Mrs. H (thanks Oskar and Richard for taking us to my new heaven!) where I scored a perfect pair of Ann Demeulemeester wedge booties on discount (more about those later).

The trip definitely took it’s toll as on Sunday I slept like 12 hours and still feel tired even though it’s almost Tuesday now. Tired as I am, it was all well worth it!
