Turn on the bright lights

This weekend consisted of seeing good bands, reckless partying, taking hundreds of photos, laughter, crashing the backstage, hanging out with friends, and finally getting home on Sunday at 6AM from a crazy after party including a topless man and spin the bottle. I’ve also had the pleasure to hang out with the sweet Essi from the Fashion Overdose, as she crashed our pad during the MOP festival which overtook this city from Thursday to Saturday.
Essi and I have talked about fashion and blogging for hours and hours, luckily she didn’t get annoyed about the fact that I tend to become a chatter box when I’m passionate about something. Now my sleep deprived body needs its rest, so I’ll let Friday’s outfit pictures open a window to this busy weekend of mine. More pictures to come in the following posts, so stay tuned!

Somebody lurks in the shadows

Ten points to the reader who guesses what I therapy shopped from the online discounts a few weeks ago. This amazing designer piece is hanging on my clothing rack at the moment, and will get it’s premier this weekend at the Monsters of Pop festival. If you are in the Tampere area, MOP is definitely something worth checking out!

More about this grey, shadowy dream piece to come. Now I’m off to watch one of the best TV-shows at the moment which goes by the name True Blood. Fits the mood of this garment perfectly.

Cherry coloured funk

It’s strange how the changing of seasons can totally affect the mood and the choices of color in people’s dressing-up. For me a true sign of a fall is when I start craving for certain colors such as burgundy, green, orange and purple to my wardrobe’s muted palette. Thereby this rainy, fall-like morning was the perfect opportunity for me to dig my dear cherry red oxfords (a.k.a. Cherry Bon Bons) out of the closet, in order to spicen up this otherwise quite generic work ensemble.

P.S. If you don’t know where the title of this entry is taken from, and haven’t heard of Cocteau Twins yet, I warmly recommend you to listen to this (and everything they have ever done). Such a perfect soundtrack for the end of the summer.

The last day of summer

After getting home from work today, I decided to celebrate this exceptionally warm day by changing into relaxed shorts, and enjoying a cone of pistachio and green apple flavored gelato. While eating my Italian ice cream (best thing ever!), I noticed that some red and orange color is already appearing on some of the tree tops at the local park, meaning fall is just around the corner. In a way I am excited because I love all the layering and dark colors of fall fashion, but on the other hand I’m a bit sad to say goodbye to summer and all the easiness it brought into dressing. However, since there are still ten days left of what is officially considered summer, I’m trying to enjoy this second last summer weekend at full blast. I hope you are doing the same!
