Hot in the city

I’ve been practically forced to abandon the blog, due to the fact that this week has been extremely busy with running erands. During the weekend we were blessed with hot temperature, so sitting in the park and meeting up with friends seemed much more interesting than staring at the computer screen in a hot apartment. This outfit is from last night and from today (just changed the shirt). I’ve finally digged out some of my other summer shoes; as much I love the Bronx sandals, you can’t wear them all of the time. These grey jazz shoes are extremely comfy and perfect for dressing down my otherwise dressy outfit. Hope you all had a good and warm weekend!

Feet on the ground, head in the sky

This weekend has been quite sunny, encouraging me to take walks, eat Italian ice cream, meet up with friends and go rollerblading with my boyfriend. The latter I started as a part of my exercice routine, as I’m planning on being in some sort of beach shape before the Barcelona trip in June. I’ve noticed that exercicing for me is possible only when its a.) fun, and b.) there is a definite short term target. Rollerblading and the Barcelona trip kind of fill these requirements.
The outfit below is from Saturday and is my way of saying: welcome summer or rather, welcome Finnish summer. If only one day it would be hot enough to wear just shorts and a t-shirt, cause I really miss those guys. Notice also the new picture taking tactics with my new found skills to hover!

Oh God it's raining and I'm not complaining, it's filling me up with new life

Finnish weather is really strange. When I left to the movie theatres today to watch Angels & Demons with my boyfriend, it was sunny. When we stepped out of the movies a couple of hours later, it was hailing and thundering. Now the firemen are emptying out some water which apparently leaked inside the basement of our apartment building. Damn you global warming! Actually, I do enjoy the rain sometimes, my hair just doesn’t.

Wallflower

I haven’t been able to tolerate pink since kindergarten but there is something intriguing about the powder pink shades this spring. Hence, it’s no wonder I’ve been eyeing on this light pink top with petal shoulders since it hit the Selected store in early spring. I was actually waiting for it to go on discount, and as I noticed it hanging on the sale racks due to being the last piece of the collection, I just had to grab it.
Funny enough, I had ordered a very similar themed skirt from Nelly.com (with the gift card we got from the blog party) and of course had to see how these two would go together. While partying in this outfit on Saturday, I felt a bit like a fairy with all the petal action going on. Naturally, I couldn’t go out without adding a splash of masculinity into the look, so the studded cuff and short hairdo were almost de rigueur.
